This marks the successful completion of the first step in the project &#8220;Commissioning and Operation of a Remote Tower Control Centre (RTC Centre Lower Saxony) at the Braunschweig site&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>As the new air navigation service provider at Braunschweig-Wolfsburg Airport, DAS will provide air traffic services from the tower, i.e. aerodrome control service, flight information service and flight alarm service, including the arrangements for operating the technical and air traffic control facilities for the provision of air traffic services (ATS technical service). The aerodrome control service is used to monitor and direct movements in the airspace and on the taxiways of the airport, including checking, warning and diverting aircraft in the airspace.<\/p>\n<p>This brings the total number of aerodromes in Germany that obtain their air traffic control services from DAS to 11.<\/p>\n<p>The aim is to have a remote tower control centre (RTC centre) in operation at the Braunschweig site by mid-2024, from which air traffic control services for the two airports, Braunschweig-Wolfsburg and Emden, will be safely provided via a so-called exterior view (ASE).<\/p>\n<p>Michael Schwarz, Managing Director of Braunschweig-Wolfsburg Airport, is confident: &#8220;With DFS Aviation Services, we have a reliable and forward-looking air traffic control services partner at our side.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are pleased that we can already take a big step towards the RTC centre by taking over the air traffic control services in 2023&#8221;, says Andreas P\u00f6tzsch, Managing Director of DAS.<\/p>\n<p>For the construction of the RTC Centre at Braunschweig-Wolfsburg Airport, DAS will cooperate with FREQUENTIS DFS AEROSENSE, a joint venture with the technology provider Frequentis, and ESPA GmbH, an air traffic control provider for CNS technology.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #002d72;\">DFS Aviation Services GmbH (DAS)<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0is a subsidiary of DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH and employs more than 400 people around the world. As a certified ATM provider, DAS controls air traffic at German small and medium-sized airports and sells products and services related to Air Traffic Control around the world. Its customers include ATM organisations, airports, airlines and aviation authorities all over the world.<\/p>\n<p>Through its subsidiary, Air Navigation Solutions Ltd. (ANSL), DAS is also responsible for air traffic at Edinburgh. The subsidiary DFS Aviation Services Bahrain Co WLL provides support in the Middle East in the areas of air traffic control and air traffic control technology. In Asia, DFS Aviation Services has a representative office in Beijing and a branch office in Singapore. In South America, DAS has a branch office in Lima.
