The world’s leading provider of flight data, Official Airline Guide (OAG), published its new ranking and Dortmund Airport has been listed as the most punctual airport in Germany.
According to OAG, 85 percent of the flights took off and landed on time in the past twelve months. Thus, Dortmund is the only German airport to receive 5 stars in the international ranking.
Udo Mager, Managing Director at Dortmund Airport, is pleased with the award: “The excellent performance in the punctuality ranking is proof of the efficiency of our employees and processes, and the cooperation with our systems partners, such as the district government, security service providers, customs and federal police. Smooth clearance can only be achieved through good cooperation. It is a nice recognition to have the efforts of all those involved rewarded with the 5-star award”.
With 82 percent take-offs and landings on time, the Bavarian airport Memmingen is also included in the statistics.
DFS Aviation Services has been the air navigation service provider at Dortmund Airport since 2006. At Germany’s largest regional airport, 10 air traffic controllers navigate about 25,500 take-offs and landings per year. The air navigation services at Memmingen Airport with 9 air traffic controllers is done by DFS Aviation Services since 2007.
