DFS Aviation Services hired its first ‘dual’ student, Jeremy Schulze, in September. Why the term ‘dual’? Because Jeremy both works at the company and studies for his bachelor degree at the same time.
The six-semester Bachelor of Arts degree in aviation management is offered by the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences. Theory phases at the university are followed by periods of work experience at DFS Aviation Services. Each period last 13 weeks. To offer this form of study, DFS Aviation Services is cooperating with its parent company DFS, the German air navigation service provider.
The periods of work experience mean he can put what has been learnt in university directly into practice. Both the student and the company benefit from this continuous transfer between theory and real-world experience.
“I find the combination of a modern air navigation service provider that is pursuing advanced ideas and the international environment to be particularly appealing about DFS Aviation Services,” said Jeremy (on the right in picture). For the company, the dual aspect of the studies brings many advantages. Manuel Stein (on the left), Expert HR, said: “The dual aspect offers both sides the optimal conditions to quickly acquire the theoretical and practical knowledge of air navigation services required.” Both sides are looking forward to this profitable partnership.
