On 6 August 2026, new regulations for drone flights within controlled airspace in Germany – including in the immediate vicinity of aerodromes – came into force on the basis of NfL 2026-1-3959 issued by the Federal Ministry of Transport.
Based on these, both the German ANSP Deutsche Flugsicherung as well as DFS Aviation Services have published information sheets on the new drone regulations for the airports under their management.
To all drone pilots planning to fly in controlled zones:
Please familiarise yourself with the latest changes before your flight, in particular NfL 2026-1-3981 and 2026-1-3982, as well as the publications and amendments in the Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP). Ensuring the safe integration of your drone into existing air traffic is your responsibility!
